”Pe paleta muzicală maghiară se află un vid imens în ceea ce privește combinația de chitară-hammond. Albumul Organ Grinder’s Suite” evocă stilul care a pornit să cucerească lumea la sfârșitul anilor ‘50, începutul anilor ’60, desigur în variantă actualizată și aducând astfel un omagiu memoriei celor care au abordat stilul acesta.
Cele zece elemente ale compoziției sunt foare apropiate, ținând cele două instrumene dominante în centru. Chitara și hammond-ul se completează reciproc de la început până la sfârșit, în general sunt într-o armonie perfectă, uneori ”vorbesc” în șoaptă, alteori mai ridică tonul, apoi mai concurează în timp ce ba unul ba celălalt va lua conducerea. Dar în final se întorc la punctul de pornire unde vom găsi din nou armonie. În tot acest timp acolo zvâcnește swing-ul, ca un râu lent și de neoprit – acest sunet dă compoziției o senzație specială și cu asta ridică și nivelul artistic al CD-ului.
Deci se poate deduce că temele au fost scrise pentru trio chitară-hammond-tobe. Tânărul organist Premecz Mátyás este cel care dă tonul legendarului Hammond-ului B-3. Despre Premecz, ca despre un mare viitor organist, ne-a atras atenția Fogar. Iar la tobe în auzim pe remarcabilul Jeszenszky György, remarcabil artist și maestru, profesor la Academia de Muzică Liszt Ferenc.
Îmi amintesc cu plăcere de perioada când ascultam formațiile lui Jack McDuff, Jimmy Smith, Larry young sau Lonnie Smith împreună cu legende ale chitării cum au fost Kenny Burrell, Grant Green, Wes Montgomery sau chiar George Benson.
Am avut plăcerea să cânt de mai multe ori alături de Fogarasi János – cel pe care toată branșa muzicală îl numește simplu ”Fogar”. Înainte de a muri și-a luat rămas bun cu aceste cuvinte: ”Gyafi, ar trebui să scoatem un album!”. Din păcate asta nu s-a mai realizat însă îi dedicăm acum acest CD.”
Gyárfás István a fost câștigătorul titlului ”chitaristul anului” în 2018 și a devenit chitaristul preferat al votanților în trei categorii pe site-ul Jazzma.hu: audiență, profesie și critică.

There is a great void in the Hungarian jazz scene of the real guitar-hammond sound. The elements of the Organ Grinder's Suite piece recalls a world-conquering jazz style that was launched at the end of 1950's and the beginning of the 1960's, and it commemorates the most prominent, legendary representatives of this style. The ten elements of the music piece are closely linked, keeping the two dominant instruments in focus. The guitar and the hammond complement each other, while they are usually in harmony, they often talk softly, argue, and sometimes compete with one another, at times, one even seems to take control over the other. Eventually, they return to the starting point where again there is harmony. During this time the swing is pulsating like a slow, but unstoppable river -and this distinctive sound gives the CD its artistic value. In fact, the themes were written for a guitar-Hammond-drum trio. The Hammond parts are played by the young, talented Mátyás Premecz on the legendary B-3 Hammond organ. Fogar brought my attention to the promising talent, Premecz. The drum is played by the accomplished György Jeszenszky, who is one of the most prominent representatives of this instrument in Hungary and is also an teaching at the Liszt Ferenc Music Academy. From the time I was making myself familiar with this genre to this very moment, an undoubtedly prominent experience was when I heard Jack McDuff, Jimmy Smith, Larry Young, or Lonnie Smith's concerts with guitar legends like Kenny Burrell, Grant Green, Wes Montgomery or George Benson.
János Fogarasi, whom the whole profession simply refers to as "Fogar" and who was perhaps the most notable player of this instrument in our small country - I have had the opportunity to play with him several times. Before he died, he often said good-bye to me with these words: "Gyafi, we need to make a record together!" Unfortunately, this could never have been done, but we dedicate this CD to him.

Nagy űr tátong a magyar jazz zenei palettán az igazi gitár-hammond hangzásban. Az „Organ Grinder’s Suite” című zenemű tételei a jazznek ezt, az ’50-es évek végén és a ’60-as évek elején világhódító útjára indult stílust idézik fel, természetesen mai köntösben, egyúttal emléket állítva a stílus legjelentősebb, legendás képviselőinek.
A zenemű tíz tétele szervesen kapcsolódik egymáshoz, középpontban tartva a két markáns hangszer játékát. A gitár és a hammond végig remekül kiegészítik egymást, általában harmóniában vannak, lágyan beszélgetnek, alkalmasint vitatkoznak, időnként versenyezve egymással, miközben néha egyik, majd a másik veszi át az irányítást. De végül visszatérnek a kiinduló ponthoz, ahol ismét harmónia uralkodik. Mindez alatt végig ott lüktet a swing, mint egy lassú, de megállíthatatlan sodrású folyó – ez a hangzás adja a zenei anyag különlegességét, ezzel a CD művészi értékét is.
Az előbbiekből kiderül, hogy a témák gitár-Hammond-dob összeállítású trióra íródtak. A darabban szereplő Hammond szólamokat a fiatal tehetség Premecz Mátyás szólaltatja meg a legendás B-3-as Hammond orgonán. Premeczre, mint ígéretes tehetségre még Fogar hívta fel a figyelmemet. A dobon pedig a kiváló Jeszenszky György hallható, aki hangszerének egyik legjelesebb képviselője hazánkban, egyúttal kiváló mester, a Liszt Ferenc Zeneakadémia jazz-dob tanszékének tanára.
„A műfajjal való ismerkedésem időszakának legjelentősebb élményei közé tartozik, mikor Jack McDuff, Jimmy Smith, Larry Young vagy Lonnie Smith együtteseit hallottam nem kisebb gitár legendákkal együtt, mint Kenny Burrell, Grant Green, Wes Montgomery vagy épp George Benson.
Fogarasi Jánossal - akit az egész szakma egyszerűen csak „Fogar”-nak nevez, és a hangszer talán leghitelesebb megszólaltatója volt kis hazánkban - többször is volt szerencsém játszani. Halála előtt gyakran búcsúzott el tőlem ezekkel a szavakkal: „Gyafi, kéne együtt csinálnunk egy lemezt!”. Ez sajnos soha nem valósulhatott meg, de ezt a lemezt neki ajánljuk."
